Cookies Notice

The Lawyer’s Break uses limited cookies and browser storage to operate the game, remember your choices and, if you agree, understand how the website is used.

Necessary technologies

These technologies provide functions you request and cannot be switched off through our cookie settings.

They allow us to:

• assign and restore your pseudonymous Legal Eagle number;
• remember recent progress and in-progress games;
• apply daily participation and counting rules;
• remember your cookie choice; and
• operate and protect the website.

A random browser token and the secure, HTTP-only irida-player cookie restore the same Legal Eagle number when you return. IRIDA stores a one-way hash of the token rather than the token itself. The token is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking or recognising you on another device.

Local storage remembers recent completion and game progress. Clearing it may remove locally saved progress. Removing both the browser token and identity cookie disconnects that browser from its Legal Eagle number.

Analytics

If you accept all, we use analytics technologies to understand matters such as:

• visits and page views;
• traffic sources and device types;
• popular pages;
• game starts and completions; and
• launch-list registrations.

Analytics help us understand and improve the website. They are not activated unless you agree, and we do not use them for advertising or cross-site tracking.

You can refuse analytics without losing access to the website or game. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.

Aggregate game statistics

We may maintain totals such as the number of visits, game starts, completions, correct or incorrect answers and challenges. Where these are produced without storing information on your device or maintaining a player-level analytics history, they do not require analytics-cookie consent.

Managing browser data

You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Doing so may remove saved progress, disconnect your browser from its existing Legal Eagle number or cause us to ask for your cookie choice again.
